This is without a doubt one of THE best punk 45s ever made...hands down. The late Mr.Soxx handed us this nasty piece of vinyl hate in 1980 and sadly, it was his only period studio recording with his backing band, THE TEENAGE QUEERS (in reality, Dallas, TX pop punks THE TELEPHONES.) A video from this period shows that Bobby had the makings of a punk legend, as such he is. According to Neal Caldwell, owner of VVV records, the record was recorded in his living room after dinner one night. 500 copies were made. Bobby himself told me shortly before he died (we had gotten buddy-buddy over the phone, and he even was going to sing on a track for us, via ma bell) that he would stick them in jukeboxes in bars and clubs and wherever he could. Mr. Soxx was quite the wildman, and was in the papers more than once over his obstreperous behaviour. After the TEENAGE QUEERS dissaloution, Bobby formed the unholy STICK MEN WITH RAY GUNS with Clarke Blacker, who had served time in the NERVEBREAKERS and BAG OF WIRE. STICK MEN ran for a few years untill 1987 when it just became too much for all parties involved. Anyway you look at it, this record is a MUST for anyone who thinks the OFFSPRING are candyass poserpunks.
