The Crap Detectors were from Nebraska,of all places and this was the first record they made...
most collectors know of the "police state" 45 from the KBD lp's,and know only of this one by
reputation.its a cross between ramonesy type thud punk and some strange synth noodeling....
over all,its pretty interesting...even more so if you take into account it came from a uninteresting
place during a VERY uninteresting time for corperate rock....im sure these guys were bored stiff
and decided to try there hand at punk rock.Im glad they did. 1978,Real Records, pressing size is
a interesting question....i have heard anywhere from 100 to 300 copies...the wonderful brain
transplant label reissued this one a few years back (but im not sure if in its entirety) and those
are long gone too.
THIS JUST IN!....Brain Transplant RM phones in
from his swank St Tropez villa to inform Mongerama that, besides owing
him royalties for living in the LA area, that all copies of the BTX
reissue have the "Police State"45 tacked on as a bonus in addition to the original record!
