Japan's mighty GISM was fronted by the purportedly legally insane Sakavi (jap for "scream")
videos of GISM performances tend to support this theory..in addition to pulling guns on audience
members (guns are almost unheard of in the publics hands in Japan),Sakavi has chased audiences
out with his bare hands, homemade flamethrowers, chainsaws etc etc.oh yeah...the record...
Detestation is a brutal document of Japanese hardcore...unflinching and ugly, this one goes for
the throat and does not release.A 2nd LP "MAN" (short for military affairs neurotic) was more
metal in a iron maiden way...except for those unmistakable vocals...GISM has been bootlegged
heavy in past years, those bootlegs taking on collectors lifes of their own...usually padded with
various comp tracks...most have pretty ginchy artwork, making it easy to plunk down cabbage for
songs you already have... 1983,Dogma records apparently not enough pressed...most originals
have a "punks are hippies" poster inside. sorry about the crummy photo..photographer im not. [M]
That's for damn sure!!![J2]
